With days away from the premiere of the Game of Thrones prequel the House of the Dragon, GOT fans must be really exciting to see what George R.R. Martin had prepared for them. After the controversial end of the final season of Game of Thrones, fans were quite disappointed by the ending hoping to see a sequel that continues the story of the most watched TV series.
However, as of now, we can only be satisfied with a prequel that will take us back hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones. With that said, the Hose of the Dragon will have many similarities to the original Game of Thrones since it is based around the Targaryen Family and dragons.
So, even though this show won’t continue the story of GOT, it will still offer a chance to go back to some plot twists, incredible visuals, and complex politics over the fight for the throne.
House of the Dragon is scheduled for release on August 21, and it is without a doubt, one of the most highly-anticipated HBO shows ever.
After the enormous success of Game of Thrones, fans will be watching House of the Dragon betting it will match their expectations.
This got us wondering, what do most people expect from the upcoming show the House of The Dragon?
Let’s find out.
More Action, Plot Twists with Interesting Politics, and more Battles
One of the most watched episodes of Game of Thrones was the one where there was plenty of action on the battlefield. Many people were amazed by the incredible politics of Westeros and hope to see the same thing with the House of the Dragon.
Even though Game of Thrones offered quite an action, fans are expecting more of the prequel. If we consider that the Battle of the Bastards, Daenerys’ Attack on King’s Landing, and the Red Wedding were some of the most talked about episodes from Game of Thrones, fans clearly want non-stop action with the upcoming prequel.
Rock Solid Storytelling
Fans really hope that they wouldn’t see the same mistake from the final season of Game of Thrones, where the storytelling and plot felt unfinished. The biggest fear of GOT fans in terms of the latest House of the Dragon TV series is not to follow in the footsteps of the previous show.
Even though GOT was praised for having incredible storytelling in the first couple of seasons, it seems like the directors were pushed by fans into finishing the series quicker, which resulted in a lack of proper storytelling.
In the Game of Thrones we were waiting for a couple of years until we saw the first dragon flight, and even though Daenerys’ children (the three dragons) were quite popular, we still didn’t see plenty of dragon action.
Until that time, everyone thought that dragons were extinct until she brought these dragons into the world. However, since House of the Dragon is set a few hundred years ago, in the middle of the Targaryen rule, most fans expect to see Westeros crowded with these flying creatures.
We all love dragons and since dragons are featured in the name of the series, maybe we will see a lot of them. Fans also want to see specific dragons that will appear in the upcoming show, like Vhagar due to his incredibly big physique.
The Other Houses of Westeros
We all know that the new show will be centered around the Targaryen clan and their fight for the throne. However, fans really expect to see what did the other houses look like prior to Game of Thrones. Additionally, centering a show around one house could be boring after a while, which is why the involvement of other houses gives people something to cheer for.
We all know that the house of the Starks and Lannisters are quite old, which means that they probably existed hundreds of years before Game of Thrones.
Connection Between the Two Series
Most people are excited to watch the House of the Dragon just to see any of the easter eggs that might unveil secret information that will make the situation more understandable in Game of Thrones. Basically, fans expect to see a connection between the two series, even though the action takes place way before the events of Game of Thrones.
Since Game of Thrones was criticized for having missed story opportunities, especially with the last season, the new upcoming show might be perfect for clearing up the dust around it and explaining the story that led to the twits in Game of Thrones.
However, fans don’t expect the same thing from the new show. Even though they want to be in the same world as Game of Thrones, they still want to find something new. With that said, it would be nice to check out the new events in the show but still get a couple of easter eggs that connect the two series.
