Considered one of the best current  (if not all-time)  football players along with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo was born in February 1985 in Funchal on the island of Madeira, Portugal. Coming from a poor family, the little prodigy first joined the amateur club of Andorinha, then CD Nacional. Cristiano was 12 when he was spotted by  Sporting Portugal . He follows his training there and is quickly integrated into the pro group.

It was then that Manchester United noticed him. In 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo joined the English team. He acquired his football star status there by multiplying  national and international titles: winner of the FA Cup in 2004, of the English championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009, of the Champions League in 2008… During this passage crowned with success in Manchester, Cristiano Ronaldo  received the Golden Ball in 2008.

In July 2009, the Portuguese left Manchester United and joined  Real Madrid . His transfer fee was €94 million, making him, at the time, the most expensive player in football history .

In Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo has the same success as in England. Under the orders of  José Mourinho ,  Carlo Ancelotti  and  Zinedine Zidane , he won two Spanish championships (2012, 2017), two Spanish Cups (2011, 2014), three Champions Leagues (2014, 2016, 2017)… He also won, individually, four new Golden Balls (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017).

Over the years, his duel with Lionel Messi, the FC Barcelona star with whom he is vying for the unofficial title of best footballer in the world, has fueled the gazettes… and the record books. At the same time, Cristiano Ronaldo carried the Portugal team (149 caps, 81 goals) to the title of European champion in 2016. It is the first major trophy in the history of the Portuguese selection, won in France after a victory against the Blues in the final (1-0 after extra time). Highly publicized, the athlete exceeds  120 million fans  on Facebook (same on Instagram). On the private side, Cristiano Ronaldo was in a relationship with the Russian model Irina Shayk between 2010 and 2015. He is the father of four children: Cristiano Jr, born in 2010; the twins Eva and Mateo, born in June 2017; little Alana, born in November 2017. The latter is the fruit of her current union with  Georgina Rodriguez.
